Free Product Key For Visual Studio 2012: Everything You Need to Get Started

A few months ago, Soma announced plans for a Visual Studio Express 2012 edition for Windows Desktop. Today, we are happy to share that this new Express product is available for download. (You can find the system requirements and download details here.) This post is written by Jennifer Leaf, one of the program managers working on the new product.

Free Product Key For Visual Studio 2012

This release, we introduced Team Foundation Server Express 2012, as well as the Team Foundation Service at www.tfspreview.com. We also included Team Explorer, which allows for integration with your TFS server into all of our Visual Studio 2012 Express products, including this one. We wanted to make it simple for you to use the source code control, work item tracking, and build automation that TFS provides.

In previous Express products, the ability to connect to a data source was limited to Database File. In Express for Windows Desktop, this capability has been extended to support all SQL Server data sources. For example, in Database Explorer, you can connect, navigate, query against and edit database objects through the latest SQL Server 2012 and Windows Azure SQL Databases.

In Visual Studio 2012, Microsoft removed the ability to make quick installers for your application. Now they recommend using a third party like Wix or InstallShield. This tutorial will go over using InstallSheild's free light version to make an installer for your application.

This Visual Studio 2012 guide shows how to install Visual Studio 2012 Ultimate edition step by step. Microsoft .NET programmers and software developers can download Visual Studio 2012 free for trial purposes and use VS2012 during evaluation period for free.

After you download Microsoft Visual Studio 2012 free setup .iso image file, you can mount .iso image it and start installing Visual Studio 2012 Ultimate trial edition directly. Of course you can write the VS2012 image file VS2012_ULT_enu.iso which is about 1.5 GB in size to a DVD and use this DVD during Visual Studio 2012 Ultimate setup. If you prefer to mount the image, you should mark the checkbox "Remount image when Windows starts up" because during Visual Studio 2012 installation, it might require to restart the computer and continue setup process.

After you restart your computer and open Visual Studio 2012 Ultimate for the first time, it will request you to provide a valid Visual Studio 2012 product key.Developers can pass this screen by closing it without entering any key for trial during the evaluation period. If you have a valid Visual Studio 2012 Ultimate edition then you can enter it at this step.

Setup users can pass this product key requesting screen by closing the screen using the close button at the top-right corner. This option will enable Visual Studio developers to install Visual Studio 2012 Ultimate edition for evaluation purposes without registering VS2012 with a valid product key.

After Visual Studio 2012 product key is entered or passed without providing any, the next screen enables Microsoft .NET developers and programmers to customize their development environment (IDE).They can choose their default environment settings among following options:General Development SettingsJavascript for Windows 8 AppsLightSwitch Development SettingsSQL Server Development SettingsVisual Basic Development SettingsVisual C# Development SettingsVisual C++ Development SettingsVisual F# Development SettingsWeb DevelopmentWeb Development (Code Only)

To install BimlExpress, you should download the BimlExpress extension for the visual studio from the official page. After it is downloaded, open the .vsix file installed, which will open the extension installer.

The Visual Studio 2012 editions and hardware requirements remain largely unchanged from Visual Studio 2010 outside of the free, lightweight Visual Studio 2012 Express tools, which are now platform-centric.

Visual Studio 2012 Ultimate is the company's all-in-one Application Lifecycle Management platform. It integrates all of the tools (including the higher end testing functionality and design tools) with Visual Studio 2012 Team Foundation Server for team collaboration. Microsoft Technical Fellow Brian Harry, the product unit manager for Team Foundation Server (TFS), details the changes in the Visual Studio 2012 TFS Release Candidate in his blog. Visual Studio 2012 Premium offers most of the diagnostic and testing tools without the high level architecture and modeling support. Visual Studio 2012 Professional is the entry-level developer product. Visual Studio LightSwitch, which was introduced out of band last summer and formerly a standalone product, is now available in all three editions. Visual Studio 2012 features LightSwitch version 2, which adds Metro-style templates and support for the OData protocol.

Changes to Express Tooling With the unveiling of the Visual Studio product lineup earlier this month, Microsoft announced that the free Express tools are now platform-centric with multiple language support. So far the company has previewed Visual Studio 2012 Express for Windows 8 (Metro-style apps), Visual Studio 2012 Express for the Web and Visual Studio 2012 Team Foundation Server Express. All three Release Candidates are available for download.

Visual & Installer Trial version is a fully functional version of product - it will run for 30 days on your machine without limitations so you can try all features. After 30 days Trial period some features will be disabled. You need to purchase license.key if you want to continue using the software with all features enabled. An optional tool in this package - Graphical Installer Wizard is free (and always will be!) - you can use it after your Trial period expires (there is no DRM!). Tips for you: Visual & Installer can open VS Setup and Deployment projects (.vdproj files) and convert them to NSIS or Inno Setup script. This is a way how you can use your Setup projects in Visual Studio 2012 and 2013. Althought Visual Studio 2012 and 2013 officially does not support .vdproj files, this features works in all versions of Visual Studio so you can upgrade your solution to latest Visual Studio without losing setup projects! If you don't have Visual Studio, try the free VS Community Edition. Visual & Installer will work with it perfectly. Thanks to all who submitted bugs, requests or any comments!

Installation of Visual Studio 2012 should be straightforward. If you are using at least the Professional Edition of the product, check boxes will appear to install managed code/native code development support (see Figure 3.16). Make sure to check the Managed Code option or switch the Options page to the more verbose mode where you can turn individual features on or off.

Advanced Installer has a free extension for Visual Studio (2012+). Individual developers and ISVs can download it from our Advanced Installer Extension for Visual Studio page. The extension is also available on the Visual Studio Marketplace.

Finally, some extensions (like C#) download secondary dependencies from download.microsoft.com or download.visualstudio.microsoft.com. Others (like Visual Studio Live Share) may have additional connectivity requirements. Consult the extension's documentation for details if you run into trouble.

You are free to use the extensions for both personal or corporate use to connect to your own physical machines, virtual machines, or containers. These can be on-premise, in your own private cloud or datacenter, in Azure, or other cloud/non-cloud hosting providers. You cannot build public products or services on top of the extensions or their related components (see next question).

Are you stuck in the vivid debate of visual studio vs visual studio code? The battle between the two will entirely depend on the work you are doing, your working style, the languages you each support, and the features you require. There are plenty of ways to decide the best for you! 2ff7e9595c
